Volunteer Opportunities

Building a neighborhood

A neighborhood is defined by the attitudes and actions of the people who live there. Candlewood Ridge and Carriage Wood are known as enjoyable and safe places to live, in part due to the effort homeowners make to get to know their neighbors. It's a friendly and diverse community where people pitch in to help each other. And we have fun—with summer picnics, Easter egg hunts, garage sales and holiday toy drives.

Volunteering, joining a committee or serving on the Board are wonderful ways to cultivate a close-knit community and make new friends.

If you have suggestions or would like to get more involved—even if you only have time to help out for a short duration—please contact our Volunteer Coordinator. Your assistance is greatly appreciated and helps make CR/CW a great place to live.

HOA Board of Directors

The CR/CW HOA is managed by seven elected Board of Directors.

Committees

When a project requires on-going oversight and volunteer assistance, the CR/CW Board may establish a special committee. Below is a list of committees currently in operation:

Block Watch Committee A crime prevention program that enlists volunteers to monitor our neighborhood for suspicious activities, vehicles or people and report incidents to the King County Sheriff's department.

This committee is currently inactive. We're actively searching for Block Watch Captains to resurrect the committee.
Common Areas Subcommittee Addresses maintenance and security issues associated with the two parks owned by the Homeowners Association. Reviews and verifies compliance with local government requirements, solicits bids, coordinates with contractors.
Capital Improvement Committee Researches and recommends solutions for capital improvement projects. Reviews and verifies compliance with legal/local government requirements, solicits bids, coordinates with contractors.
Easter Eggstravaganza Committee The Easter bunny is always looking for a few good volunteers to help decorate & hide eggs, solicit prizes and manage activities on the day of CR/CW's great Easter egg hunt.
Rules & Regulations Subcommittee Study government of the CR/CW community and and make recommendations for modifications to or enforcement of HOA rules and regulations.
Welcoming Committee Welcome new homeowners to the neighborhood, including preparing and dropping off a "Welcome Package" with helpful information about the CR/CW HOA, local resources, etc.

Volunteers

Aside from committees, other projects surface from time to time. Most urgent needs include:

  • Community Service Project (clean entrance signs)
  • Block Watch Committee
  • Security Service Committee
  • Yard and Home Awards Committee
If you'd like to help out or have a suggestion that could help improve our community, please Contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

Emergency Services

CR/CW falls within the purview of King County. Contact the Police or Fire Departments.
